Northern Tundra
Location: Alberta, Canada
During the 2012 winter season, SAExploration completed two significant vibroseis projects in the Oilsands of Northern Alberta. The first project was a high-density 3-component (3C) 4D vibroseis program with a recording patch of 11,232 channels recorded at a 1 ms sample rate. The crew of more than 70 worked 24/7 to complete this program in 20 days. The second program was a high density, single-point receiver 3D program. This 13,500-station crew used slip-sweep advanced Vibroseis acquisition in order to increase productivity during the winter season and reduce customer exposure to weather and stand-by costs. The crew of 110 averaged more than 2,600 source points per day and completed the project on time and under budget.
