Drill Push

Duties

- Work closely with contract drillers, ensuring safety and quality of shot holes.
- Ensure that all persons entering the work area are authorized and understand explosive safety procedures. Also ensure that unauthorized persons are kept away from the area.

Equipment Coordinator
Read MoreResponsible for inventory control, job planning and crew placement. Reports to Observer and Recoding Crew Manager, supervises trouble shooter, line boss and line crew.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate vehicles and personnel to specific points on the prospect.
- Distribute equipment to proper location, inventory and general maintenance of such equipment.
- Maintain constant contact with the crew and recorder to ensure production is maintained with quality and safety.
- Lead by example and assist the recorder and line crew members with daily operations, inventories and job planning.
- Provide Equipment transmittals for crew transfers to Observer and equipment manager in Calgary in a timely manner.
- Must abide by and enforce all SAExploration’s policies including but not limited to HSE, Drug & Alcohol, Operational Policies.
- Responsible for all aspects of health, safety and environmental concerns in particular work area. Must adhere SAExploration’s HSE policies and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Complete required logs and forms in accordance with SAExploration Exploration and client policies.
- Required to assist as needed in any capacity on the crew, at the discretion of the Observer.
Field Admin
Read MoreResponsible for daily reporting requirements, accurately communicating with the head office and assisting the Party Manager in daily operations of the recording and advance crew. Reports to RCM.
Duties
- Actively attends and participates in safety meetings.
- Must conform to all SAExploration policies including but not limited to HSE, Drug & Alcohol, Operational Policies, Client, and Local & Provincial Government Policies.
- Assist the RCM in the administration and operation of the field crew as follows:
- Ensure that all necessary program documentation is available and that adequate copies are available to subcontractors, advance personnel and other crew members as required.
- Accurately prepare all necessary daily reports
- Verify the accuracy of all recording crew, advance crews and subcontractor reports (production statistics and costs ) and record on the program stat report.
- Maintain accessible files on all crew operations ( i.e. OSHA Regulations, Crew safety binder, equipment / inventory reports, maintenance and repair reports, job files, PO’s etc.
- Verify accuracy of subcontractor and supplier invoices along with the corresponding PO’s.
- Ensure that transmittals are accurately prepared and received for all equipment, data and documentation that moves between crews, suppliers or main office

Line Boss

Mechanic

- Perform all tasks, which have been allocated by Shop Foreman. Ensure all maintenance and repairs conform to manufacturers technical, operational and quality specifications and maintain detailed records for the same.
- Communicate with the Observer and Coordinator on regular basis to be in touch with timelines and requirements of ongoing operations.
- Timely and safe repairs to SAExploration equipment.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.

Shooter

Duties

- Operate and maintain blaster.
- Operate and maintain UTV.
- Ensure correct location of and detonation of all explosive charges.
- Ensure shotpoint locations are cleaned and plugged properly after detonation.
- Must check to make sure permit tag was put in place.
- Required to assist as needed in any capacity on the crew, at the discretion of the Observer.

Troubleshooter

Vibrator Operator

Vibrator Technician
Read MoreA Vibrator Technician is responsible for ensuring that vibes are in working order. They will perform all required checks on support units and record all repairs and damages. On a daily basis, the Vibe Tech will ensure daily maintenance is performed by vibe personnel and will conduct inspections on wireless and vibe data. Every month, they will inventory parts and assets in the vibrators.
Duties:
- Ensures daily maintenance is performed by vibe personnel
- Ensures all required checks are performed on support units and records all repairs and damages
- Maintains monthly inventory of parts and assets in the vibrator
- Conducts daily inspections on wireless and vibe QC data
- Assists with crew start-ups, zero time, radio delay adjustments and polarity verifications
- Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs various types of vibrator electronics (Inova Vib PRO, Sercel VE464, and Seismic Source FORCE-TWO)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in seismic acquisition
- Electronic Technology diploma or 2 years of post-secondary relevant engineering education
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision -
- 2D, 3D, 4D, Heli-portable, conventional seismic experience an asset
- Strong technical aptitude
- Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft office products

Field Service Technician
Read MoreThe Field Service Technician works closely with the field crew to ensure equipment is in working order and within specified limits. As required, they are the primary field technical liaison with customers. They have primary responsibility to troubleshoot and correct system breakdowns to reduce crew down-time. From a safety perspective, Field Service Technicians are responsible for ensuring company policies, regulatory requirements and customer expectations are being met.
Duties:
- Assists in planning and requisitioning of new, recording equipment, radios and computers
- Works with Seismic Observers to verify field instrument tests and make sure equipment is within specified limits

- Oversees and participates in the installation, interfacing, testing and usage of equipment and/or programs
- Troubleshoots and corrects system breakdowns to reduce crew down-time

Operations Supervisor

- Represents the company at client meetings and functions
- Acts as communications channel between the client and the field operations
- Promotes safety and continuous improvement in all operations
- Regularly visits field operations to mentor and train managers
- Assumes some of the functions and responsibilities of the Operations Manager when he/she is unavailable
- Actively participates in the company’s internal audits
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 to 15 years’ experience in seismic acquisition

Seismic Observer
Read MoreObservers are an integral part of the field crew. They are responsible for the overall safe operations of recording instruments. Typically, the Observer supervises crew operations to ensure safe and productive acquisition of high quality data. In the field, they are ensuring that recording and testing operations are complying with program parameters. From a safety perspective, Observers are responsible for ensuring company policies, regulatory requirements and customer expectations are being met.
Position Description:
- Responsible for safe operations of recording instruments
- Supervises crew operations to ensure quality seismic data is recorded in a safe and productive manner
- Ensures proper use and maintenance of SAExploration assets
- Prepares and executes a plan for field recording to ensure that all recording and testing operations complies with client parameters
- Complies with and enforces policies and procedures of SAExploration and the customer, as well as regulatory or industry requirements
- Assists in developing and mentoring of junior field personnel
Qualifications:
- Must be legally entitled to work in the region applying for and willing to travel
- Proven leadership ability and strong skills in seismic operations management

HSE Field Advisor
