Mr. Hastings started his career in the geophysical industry in the late-1970s. Starting in field management, Mr. Hastings advanced through the ranks of management and was President and an owner of Fairweather Geophysical, which primarily performed seismic operations in Alaska. Throughout its operations, Fairweather maintained at least an 80% market share in Alaska. In 2000, Veritas DGC Inc. acquired Fairweather and Mr. Hastings remained with Veritas to run its Alaskan operations. During his time with Veritas, the Company maintained nearly a 100% market share in Alaska. In late 2009, Mr. Hastings left CGGVeritas (Veritas was acquired by CGG in 2007) and focused his efforts on growing SAE’s business both in South America and North America. Since then, SAE has been successful in entering the North American market.
The original founder of SAE in 2006, Mr. Beatty’s career in the seismic industry started in 1980 with Veritas in seismic field management. At Veritas (now CGGVeritas), he was instrumental in establishing new country operations and most of its international operations. During his last 15 years with Veritas, Mr. Beatty managed all of the South American operations and was successful in building Veritas’ business in Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Bolivia. Upon starting SAE, Mr. Beatty positioned the Company to very quickly secure an 80% market share in Peru and a substantial market share in Colombia. SAE has maintained this position since 2008 and continues to see substantial growth in all of its markets. Recently, Mr. Beatty led the Company to be the only major seismic contractor operating in Bolivia and Papua New Guinea. Mr. Beatty provides unmatched leadership in Latin American operations and has been the key to SAE’s overwhelming success within the industry. In 2011, Mr. Beatty led the Company’s expansion into Canada through its acquisition of Datum Exploration.
